County set to begin work on Lansing Rd. next week

SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, Mich. (Mid Michigan Gazette) — Drivers in Shiawassee County will be seeing more orange barrels starting next week.

On Monday, April 20, 2026, road work is set to begin on Lansing Rd. between Bancroft Rd. and Newburg Rd., according to the Shiawassee County Road Commission.

This comes nearly a year after crews completed work on Lansing Rd. between M-71 and Geeck Rd.

Single-lane closures will be in place, officials said, and motorists should plan for delays when navigating the area.

Work on the stretch of Lansing Rd. includes asphalt milling, joint work, shoulder widening, guardrail improvements, asphalt resurfacing, and pavement markings.

Resident access will be maintained; however, there will be times of inconvenience for those who live and drive in the area.

People who have questions are encouraged to contact Brad Rigoulot at (989) 743-2228.

The county road commission hopes to have the project completed by June 26, 2026.
