PERRY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Mid Michigan Gazette) — A 56-year-old woman from Owosso is dead following a crash on M-52 in Perry Township.
The incident happened on Friday, September 4, 2026, around 8:39 AM.
According to the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash where the Owosso woman was traveling southbound on the roadway, lost control of her vehicle and crossed the middle of the road into the northbound lane.
A 53-year-old man from Rapid City was headed northbound on M-52 in a large passenger truck pulling an enclosed trailer.
The car driven by the woman was struck by the truck while it rotated out of control across the lanes.
Officials said both drivers needed to be extricated out of their vehicles.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was taken to the hospital for his injuries.
