Shelter-in-place order in effect for Laingsburg residents

LAINGSBURG, Mich. (Mid Michigan Gazette) — All people living within the City of Laingsburg are being told to shelter in place due to a police incident.

According to a social media post from Shiawassee County Central Dispatch around 11:37 AM, the situation is happening in the area of Church Street and Grand River Avenue.

Officials have not released specific details on what is prompting the “shelter in place” order.

They added that people should be locking their doors and staying away from windows.

Multiple Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office deputies could be seen around the intersection of Crum Street and E. First North St.

They also ask that people stay away from the scene for safety reasons and to let law enforcement do their work.
