BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Mid Michigan Gazette) — Two drivers were sent to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash that happened in Bennington Township on Thursday evening.
According to the Michigan State Police, on February 5, 2026, around 6:25 p.m., troopers responded to M-52 near Miller Rd. north of Perry for a two-vehicle personal injury crash.
Law enforcement said that the preliminary investigation indicated that a Jeep was traveling north on M-52 when it lost control and crossed the center line. Police added that it then collided with a GMC SUV that was headed southbound.
A 17-year-old male from Owosso was driving the Jeep and was ejected from the vehicle. The SUV was driven by a 62-year-old woman from Perry.
“It appears that the driver of the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt,” according to a social media post from the MSP. “Both drivers were transported to the hospital for medical treatment.”
It is unclear at this time of their conditions.
MSP said that the investigation is ongoing and they do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
