Michigan State Police locate missing teen, return her to parents

Update: On Oct. 11, Michigan State Police followed up on an investigative lead to locate the missing juvenile, Toriann Shirey, a post on the social media platform X. The post added that she is now back home with her parents.

LANSING, Mich. (Mid Michigan Gazette) — The Michigan State Police (MSP) is looking for a missing 16-year-old girl.

In a post on the social media platform X, MSP said that Toriann Marie Shirey was last seen at 1:30 a.m. on October 5, 2025, near the 1800 block of Hammett Road in Crystal Township in Oceana County.

“Unknown on what she is wearing, but may have a pink backpack with her,” the social media post stated.

Troopers from an MSP post in West Michigan believe she was picked up at the Walmart in Ludington and then given a ride to Manistee on the morning of October 5.
