Man facing multiple charges following Owosso Twp. standoff

SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, Mich. (Mid Michigan Gazette) — A man is facing charges following a “barricaded gunman” standoff in Owosso Township last week, which prompted law enforcement to issue a shelter-in-place order.

On March 3, 2026, the Michigan State Police said that the incident followed an alleged domestic assault situation involving a weapon on the 2400 block of Krouse Road in the evening.

The suspect, Steven Lockwood, is facing multiple charges, including:

  • POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
  • WEAPONS – FIREARMS – POSSESSION BY PROHIBITED PERSON
  • WEAPONS – CARRYING CONCEALED
  • WEAPONS – AMMUNITION – POSSESSION BY PROHIBITED PERSON
  • DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – 2ND OFFENSE NOTICE

Lockwood’s bond was set at $100,000. He was arraigned on March 9.

There were no reported injuries in the standoff, according to MSP.
