Pedestrian critically injured after being struck by vehicle in East Lansing

EAST LANSING, Mich. (Mid Michigan Gazette) — A man is in critical condition after being hit by a car in East Lansing.

According to police, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, in the downtown area of the city.

Mid Michigan Gazette was on the scene and saw three East Lansing Police Department vehicles blocking the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Grand River Avenue.

The roadway has reopened since then.

Law enforcement declined to provide additional identifying information about the pedestrian.

ELPD added that this incident is under investigation.
